Vijayta comes from regular musical family originating in Pili Mandori Village in Hissar section of Haryana state.
Pandit Jasraj is her uncle. Her old sister is Sulakshana Pandit, contemporary like her, is an contestant and playback singer. Her brothers are music directors Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit, better consign as Jatin–Lalit.[2]
